Hello there,
Independent studies have shown that it is now scientifically impossible for a month to pass without a significant social
website development. Sure enough, the recent rumours of Google's impending
YouTube acquisition were confirmed just a few days and $1.65 billion after they'd begun.
And just a few more hours after that, the bosses of media owning bodies and their lawyers could be found debating the
percentage of the new owner's multi-million dollar empire they might be awarded for the site's many
breaches of copyright.
Can YouTube maintain its appeal if it is forced to ditch the popular copyrighted material and rely on user generated content alone?
On the home front
You may recall that last month we were debating possible solutions to our office's acoustical short-comings. We
eventually solved the problem by taking our desks, chairs, computers - in fact everything in the room - and moving
them around until they were all in different positions in a different room in a different building.
That is to say we've moved into a lovely new office! We're still in Clerkenwell, but the new office is much more homely.
Should you wish to send us a letter or pop in for tea, please use the updated address on our website. If the telephone is more your thing, please accept our apologies if you experience poor call quality over the next week or so.
We have spoken to the relevant authorities and have been assured that normal service will be resumed shortly.
And finally...
Halloween and Guy Fawkes night are both looming out of the every-increasing darkness. Remember to ask for sweets nicely,
hold sparklers at arm's length and check for hedgehogs that may have confused a nice place for a nap with a soon to be burning inferno.
Enjoy the pyrotechnics xxx
